 The Move Mountains Music and Arts Festival is possibly the largest Festival event Toowoomba will see for some time. An amazing line up of local and national bands will play on two stages throughout the day at the Annand Street car park and adjoining hall this Sunday, 26th February 2012.The Move Mountains Festival's mission is to bring awareness, foster a celebration of unity against trauma and to develop a platform for community groups to source money for the continuing impact of the 2011 January floods in Toowoomba, the Darling Downs and The Lockyer Valley. The festival will run between the hours of 10am and 7pm Two great stages of music will operate on the day, our headlining acts are The Blackwater Fever (playing Big Day Out 2012), Drawn From Bees (played Caloundra Music Festival and SXSW Festival in the USA) and His Merry Men (9 piece funk band) plus Lockyer Valley trio The Wind Up Dolls, and many other quality local acts like Bart Thrupp, Dana Hassall and Megan Achilles (approx 30 acts all together). The outdoor area is FREE and the main stage will be $15 entry and there is a discount price for families for the main stage area. PRE-PAID TICKETS (for main stage area) ARE AVAILABLE AT - http://movemountainsfestival.com There will be great food, numerous market stalls, community group stands, a kids area, live art battles and mural paintings conducted by MARS and MADE Creative art space and well known Toowoomba artists like Damien Kamholtz (featured on Yellow Pages 2009). Roving performers will feature such as Drum Dance and Dudu Zulu plus actors and comedians. ABC Open will be hosting a tent displaying a video database project of the 2011 floods (as part of a more extensive database from around Australia) which includes footage and interviews during the actual flood, the aftermath and recovery in Toowoomba and Lockyer Valley communities.
